Join us on September 11th at Thomson Reuters as hosts Sathya Yesuraja and Shannon O'Brien present a mini-workshop on collecting and analyzing contextual inquiry data. This even it sponsored by Celarity

One of the best ways to innovate is to first learn about your customer by observing them using analogous products or services in their own environment. Equipped with rich user data, your user centered design process can hit the ground running. This presentation will review how to plan and conduct contextual interviews and interpret data, closely following Karen Holtzblatt's Contextual Design process. Participants will get firsthand experience at building an affinity diagram, learning how to organize individual insights into high-level takeaways.

In particular, we'll discuss:

  • Introduction to Contextual Design
  • Planning and conducting your contextual interviews
  • Interpreting the data
  • Work modeling
  • Building affinity diagrams
  • Walking the wall

This event ties into Karen Holtzblatt's one-day workshop scheduled on September 29th. Where this event focuses on collecting and analyzing the data, Karen will discuss the visioning process for using the data to drive your team's design and UX strategy.

  • Meet and greet with refreshments: 6:30 - 7:00 PM
  • Presentation and mini-workshop: 7:00 - 8:30 PM
