The rise of the web has led to the convergence of content, product, distribution and consumption, blurring the lines between software and media product. How are agencies supposed to adapt to this new service-orientated and networked world? Lean UX is a process that aims to tackle these challenges. Lean UX is at the cross-roads of Lean Startup and User Experience with an emphasis on Design Thinking and Agile development, breaking down the barriers between designers, developers and business teams to deliver real value. At its core, Lean UX is a mindset shift away from shipping deliverables towards a focus on shipping value and reducing waste by building shared understanding.

Our presenters will show how Lean UX can be used to define business value up front and, with an experimental mindset, how actual implementations can deliver on that value.

Presenter Bios
Scott Jesser - Sr. Experience Designer
Scott combines training in marketing and communications with hands on problem solving across a wide variety of brands and contexts. Scott is able to analyze large sets of complex data, content, and requirements, distilling them into design templates and interactions to create systems, define user flows, and inform user experience strategies. He works effectively and efficiently through cross-discipline collaboration as well as independently to solve business and user needs through human centered design methods.

Kyle John Anderson - Sr. Experience Designer
Kyle has been designing interactive experiences for seven years. He’s flirted with print design, dated web design, but fell in love with user-centered design, which ultimately led him to the field of user experience. His unique, forward-thinking perspective on UX makes his frames & flows taste as sweet as cotton candy. He enjoys tech gadgets, rock shows, classic video games and hilarious jokes.

Leslie Sorum - Experience Designer
Leslie brings a broad mix of skills, from design to development, enabling her to look at problems from multiple view points and craft experiences that are well balanced and exciting. Leslie has experience working in both traditional and agile methodologies and utilizes that experience to identify the best of the process to align strategy, design and engineering at the finest detail.

Elliott Payne - Sr. Service Designer
Elliott began his career putting lean methodologies into practice in a manufacturing environment, a mechanical engineer by training, Elliott transitioned to a career in the software industry by way of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application consulting. After completing his MBA at Carlson School, Elliott joined space150 as a Business Analyst (BA) where he brought a human-centered mindset to the often un-human like BA role. He has combined his training in human factors engineering, business strategy, and hands on UX work to develop the Service Design practice at space150.
