Everyone who spends any time on the Internet has been prompted to
complete an online survey. That's an online tool most researchers are
familiar with. But what other types of research can you do using the
vast reach of the Internet?
This session will discuss the online methodology as a highly effective
and economic means of collecting user feedback. We'll explore the
advantages of doing an online study and discuss what types of research
projects are well suited for this methodology.
We'll review case studies of projects using this methodology in order to
gain an understanding of what steps are involved from the researcher's
standpoint, what participants experience when they take part in an
online study, and what type of learnings can be collected using this
methodology. Some of the projects we'll examine include an online
usability testing of a web site, rapid prototype testing using an online
panel, and online testing of ads & marketing messages, and other real-
world applications of the online methodology.
